Tremors

The other night after we had just gotten into bed, we were lying there, and pretty soon I was wondering why Joe was shaking the bed. Then, I realized he wasn't shaking the bed, the whole room was shaking. The whole building was shaking. The decorative coins hanging from the candle on our dresser began to clink and shake. Everything was vibrating beneath us, and we sat there frozen, amazed at our first earthquake.

Lots of people here have asked us if we've felt the earthquakes before, but we never have. I guess it was only a little 3.2 that lastest about 5 seconds, but it was weird! The next day at school it was the big topic of conversation. One guy said that it felt like his couch turned into a water bed and his TV was banging against the wall. Another couple was at school and all the computers began to rattle around. Some people who were already asleep didn't even notice. It was definitely a surreal experience. Not something you experience in the flatlands of Iowa. I can't say that Joe and I ever want to feel anything stronger. I can only imagine.
