And More Bugs...

I am officially a bad blogger now. It's been awhile, but I have an excuse for the last week anyway. Sophia came down with a really high fever last Sunday and has had a slow recovery since then. She first had a stomach bug for about a week. Then she had a super icky eye infection. Then, came the high fever and bad cough. We took her to the doctor and what did he tell us? She had strep throat. Who would have thought? Now, she's better and I have the eye infection and terribly sore throat. I completely lost my voice Saturday and I'm just starting to get it back to normal.

Other than sickness, we've been dealing with how we will compress all of our junk into just six suitcases. We've even been practice packing, as ridiculous as that sounds. We have a huge list of stuff that we are selling. Luckily, our nanny wants most of it. It's so hard for locals to get things, from decent kitchen utensils to towels, so pretty much everything we're selling is a bargain for her. She's been on the phone to her brother, sister, nephew, friends, and church members making sales for us. As of right now, we are one suitcase over (we hope), but we can live with that. In a couple of weeks the PTO will have a garage sale and all our odds and ends will hopefully be sold then. Liquidate and rebuy is our policy this time. Everything's made in China, right?

Last time when we moved from Egypt we did the same, but we ended coming here with 10-11 suitcases. Then, we brought at least another ten through Christmas trips and summers. So much baby stuff! We've had to get rid of some home decorations we like, but our new policy is that if it's big, it's just temporary. Moving is the one drag of international teaching. If only we could have the schools move our whole household like they do for military families.

School is really starting to wind down now. I'm counting the days for my seniors to graduate. They have terrible senioritis, but at least the end is in sight now. The weather has improved since my last post. We've had a lot of rain, though. Some days are beautiful; some are gray and dreary. It's much greener now, though, and we've enjoyed going on long walks lately.

That's about it. I have lots of new pictures and video of the little one which I will post separately. She is getting big!
