We had guests a couple of weeks ago. Two Flat Stanleys came to visit us through the mail. (In case you haven't read it, Flat Stanley is a book about a boy who gets flattened and mailed around the world.) We had fun showing them "around" and then sending them back to Samuel and Kendell. We hope they make it back safely. You never can tell with the Chinese mail.

Some great sites around Shekou these last couple of weeks. A friend and I were cracking up while waiting in line for the toilet. What a great translation - "for weak only." We thought I might be justified in using this toilet since I'm pregnant.

Ever seen anyone stock shelves like this before? Where I come from, we might consider standing on a shopping cart to be a little dangerous. Never mind that they sell step stools just around the corner.

Look closely for the horse sculpture going through this building.

Ah, China. You can be walking down the sidewalk with a man carrying four dead chickens right in front of you.

It's hard to see, but there was so much laundry hanging in the balconies of this building, it seemed interesting. This is what a lot of buildings look like around here.

During Chinese New Year, I was able to snap this photo of the Chinese dragon during the show they put on in the park across the street. I had to zoom in pretty far from our balcony.

Joe and Sophia had a daddy/daughter day at the Shenzhen zoo. Sophia had a blast. You can see her excitement as she rides her first amusement park ride all by herself. This little ferris wheel was made just her size. Of course, the playground was the highlight of the day.

There were lots of animals to see. She even got to see the elephants getting their morning bath. The zoo was in pretty good shape. Maybe not the best habitats, but clean.
